Title
: The coffee flows too quickly |

Description
:
When
I am making espresso coffees, the coffee comes out in strong, vigorous spurts,
with a flow time of around 10 seconds. Furthermore, the coffee in the cup
is not of high quality (the cream is very light).

There
are several possible causes of this fault :
1- The ground coffee used is too
coarse.
2- The coffee has not been packed
down firmly enough.
3- The dosage is insufficient.
4- The pressure supplied by the
pump is too high (>10 bar).
5- The holes in the sieve have
become larger (the sieve will probably need to be changed every 8
to 10 months).
Cases 1, 2 and 3 can be resolved by adjusting the grinder settings.
Cases 4 and 5 require the attention of a technician, who will carry
out the necessary maintenance operations. |
